Smart cities

India’s “Smart cities” scheme will set in motion the process of urban transformation to enable better living. 31% of the country population live in cities and generate 63% of the nation’s economic activity. Urban population numbers are increasing rapidly with almost half of India’s population projected to live in cities by 2030.

Enormous infrastructure has to be build and upgraded to improve the quality of life: smart water and waste management, smart environment, smart urban planning, smart buildings, smart IT and communications, smart security and safety, smart grid, smart energy, smart manufacturing, smart transportation, smart health, etc.

The scope for foreign investors is tremendous!

The government has allocated an outlay of US$ 15.329 million to execute 100 smart cities and an urban rejuvenation programme for 500 towns and cities in next 5 years.
